About Jan Aushadhi Store (JAS)

Jan Aushadhi Stores (JAS) is a part of the Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana (PMBJP). These stores provide quality medicines at affordable prices to the public. You can find JAS stores throughout the country. Check their website for a list of stores by state and district.

JAS stores are open from 8 AM to 8 PM and sell therapeutic medicines, surgical items, and medical products. Over-the-counter products can be bought without a prescription, but scheduled drugs require one. JAS stores maintain high-quality standards by testing every batch of medicine from CPSUs and private suppliers. Only after ensuring conformity to standards, the medicines are supplied to Super Stockists/Jan Aushadhi Stores from the PMBI warehouse.

The PMBI, established under the Department of Pharmaceuticals, Govt. of India, with the support of all the CPSUs, coordinates procurement, supply, and marketing of generic drugs through the Jan Aushadhi Stores. This ensures that the public has access to quality medicines at an affordable price.
